Events
Committees are formed to ensure that the events sponsored by the Chamber are of high quality, are visible, well advertised and promote or reflect business in a positive manner. Each year the East County Women's Conference has receives rave reviews and always holds the attention of the participants. The purpose of this event is to empower women to be all that they can be.

Credibility
The Antioch Chamber of Commerce establishes credibility to members through: Effective Communications, Legislative Activism and Accountability to Members. The Antioch Chamber of Commerce enhances the quality of life in the community by: Partnering with the City to promote and attract new businesses, Being an advocate for community issue and Being a visible force in community activities. The Chamber supports businesses and the community. There is a strong commitment to organizational integrity and to delivering on promises.

Advocacy
The Chamber Board members and staff are visible at both the City Council and Planning Commission meetings. This gives the Chamber decision-makers first hand knowledge on the issues facing the community. The Legislative Affairs committee reviews bills that may impact businesses or the community. The research is used to form positions for recommendation to the Board of Directors. This Board of Directors has a strong track record of standing behind Chamber policies.

The recruiting of new businesses into the community is paramount to the success of Antioch. The jobs to housing balance must be brought closer together. The growth of existing businesses is also important and every effort is to be made to ensure that once businesses locate in Antioch, they stay.

A collaborative effort must be made while addressing issues that impact the downtown issues, riverfront promotions, transportation solutions, community activities and other concerns that may arise. The Chamber is committed to being at the table and to being an active participant in reaching goals and solutions.

Relevance
The Antioch Chamber of Commerce will communicate a clear position on issues relevant to the business community.

Education
The goal is to educate the membership and the community on the impacts of issues being or needing to be addressed.

The appropriate spokesperson will testify and speak out on issues that are important to business. There is a focus on long term implications of short-term solutions. Whenever practicable, strategic alliances will be formed with other business organizations.

There will be a task force established to investigate the nuances of forming a Political Action Committee. The use of surveys, focus groups or one on one discussions is utilized to strengthen positions taken by the Chamber. The Chamber, as an organization, can only be as strong as the membership. The opinions of members weigh heavily on the decisions formed during committee and board meetings.
